Low-Melting-Point Thermobonding Elastane Covered Yarn

Low-melting-point thermobonding elastane covered yarn is a type of covered yarn produced using the air covering process to wrap low-melting-point filaments, structural materials, and elastane together。

The low-melting-point filaments used can be nylon low-melting-point filaments or polyester low-melting-point filaments. Depending on the different melting points, different setting processes are applied during use. The structural material can be colored nylon or polyester high-elasticity yarn. The elasticity helps to keep the yarn in a tight, contracted state, preventing it from unraveling.

The covered yarn can also be twisted after production, which makes the materials bond more tightly and enhances the thermobonding sealing effect.

For sealing and overlocking sewing threads, in addition to the aforementioned low-melting-point elastane covered yarn, there are also sewing threads made by directly compounding and twisting low-melting-point filaments with structural materials without adding elastane. After sewing with this type of thread and undergoing heat setting, it is less likely to unravel.

Common low-melting-point covered yarns currently produced include:

1) 30D/50D nylon low-melting-point + 70D nylon elastic yarn + 20D elastane, air-covered and twisted.

2) 100D nylon low-melting-point + 70D nylon elastic yarn, air-covered and twisted.

3) 100D low-melting-point filament + 100D polyester FDY twisted yarn, etc.
